Current Prices . The price list is updated several times per year. The most recent prices are always posted on this web site, so there is no need to confirm the price of IHSS products before placing an order.
Placing Your Order. Use fax , postal mail or e-mail. Either prepay or submit a purchase order ( PO ) from your company, university or government agency. For international POs, we need to know the method of payment before we can ship your order. Please provide us with shipping and billing addresses as well as other contact information (phone, fax and e-mail). E-mail allows us to easily communicate with our customers if we have questions about an order.
No Telephone Orders - Because sales orders are processed by a person who works part-time, it is impossible to take phone orders.
Minimum Order - The minimum order is $40.00.
Methods of Payment:
Credit Card. We prefer credit card payment. We take Master Card, Visa or American Express. Fax your credit card information to our secure fax capable computer (This computer is permanently offline). Please provide the credit card number, expiration date, and name of the cardholder.
Check. Make your check payable to the International Humic Substances Society . Checks must be in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank.
Bank to Bank (Wire) Transfer. We discourage this method of payment. Bank fees are charged by both banks involved in the transfer and our administrative costs are high. If you must pay by this method we will charge you $35.00 to cover the costs.
Handling and Shipping Costs . The handling and shipping fee for small quantities by US Mail is $8.00 for US delivery and $12.00 for all other countries, including Canada . Larger orders will incur a higher fee. We prefer to ship via US Mail; however, if so requested, orders can be shipped by Federal Express. The fee for Federal Express shipping includes the Fed Ex fee plus a minimum handling charge of $8.00 for US and $12.00 for non US destinations. For US delivery please specify the Fed Ex service (Standard Overnight, 2Day, etc.)

Time for Processing Orders - Normally we process orders within 4 business days of receipt.
Acknowledgement that your Sample has been Shipped. We only provide an acknowledgement that your order has been shipped if you make a request and if you provide an e-mail address.
Customs Duties and Tariffs. The harmonized international code (Schedule B) for our humic products is 3822000002. Our products are laboratory reagents, not subject to customs duties in the EU and most non EU countries. The code for our books is 4901990050 (technical and scientific books), which are also generally not subject to customs duties.
Soil Pathogen Import Restrictions. HA, FA and NOM have been sufficiently processed so as to be not problematic. Upon request, we can supply you with a description of the processes used, describing how our processing mitigates against pathogens. Buyers are responsible for pathology restrictions that might apply to import of bulk Pahokee peat or Elliott soil. These materials have not been treated to eliminate pathogens.
Allowed Quantities. IHSS standard humic and fulvic acids provide the user with a means of comparing results that are obtained by the same method in two or more laboratories or results that are obtained by different experimental methods in a single laboratory. Although they are often used as primary reagents for conducting studies on humic substances, this was not the original intent of the Collection. In order to allow for the use of our materials by the maximum number of laboratories, purchases of some Standard Samples are limited to one gram per year . This limit applies to all Standards except the humic acids from leonardite, soil, peat, and the Suwannee River fulvic acids,. The materials that are not limited are those that IHSS has in rather substantial supply. Purchases of bulk source materials (Elliott soil, Pahokee peat, and Gascoyne leonardite) are limited to 500g per year .
